Ramble

People have told me I have a talent for directing.

I just say what I see and share what I think and do both as honestly as possible.

I encourage people to ask me questions if they don't understand something I said or want done.

I try to illustrate points in terms both concrete and metaphorical.

If something is shitty I'll acknowledge it and then laugh along with the performers.

If something is great, I'll get as excited as if they had done it in front a full house.

I'm disciplined enough to have an outline of what I want to do and flexible enough to ditch it to follow the flow of rehearsal.

I'm not afraid to say "I don't know" and "I'm not sure."

I'm brave enough to admit I wish I was talented as the folks I direct.

But most of all...

I treat folks as I would want to be treated, both as a professional AND as an artist; I give 'em the respect they deserve and challenge their abilities.

...and scene! Two more up.
